Stop the Mad Rush to Nowhere

Society is in a constant, endless RUSH and it is causing exhaustion, anxiety and depression to explode world-wide. But we aren’t meant to live this way! Our bodies aren’t meant to be stressed, exhausted and depleted long-term.

Why do I have to let my monkey-mind drag me around left, right, up, down, in circles? It’s exhausting! Making lists, obsessively checking to-do’s, to buys, to think abouts…it’s ENDLESS. I don’t even know if tomorrow will come but I am so engrossed in what it holds that I am not living in my present moment, which is very much real and existing and happening right now.

Stop making lists! Stop making irrelevant to-do’s! Stop putting notes in the calendar!!

So how do we take control of it? How do we calm our shit?

Prioritize Experiences Not Things

Hello Lovelies!

Today I want to talk to you about prioritizing experiences in life.

I’m constantly grateful for the fact that I’ve done some pretty cool things so far. I’ve bungee jumped, sky dived, snorkeled with manta rays, cage dived with great white sharks, climbed mountains and traveled to some pretty amazing places to do those things.

I’m certainly not rich and I’m not simply lucky… being able to enjoy those experiences took commitment, hard work and belt tightening. I decided doing those things was important to me, I prioritized making them happen and so my life style choices centered around those goals.

What was the main lifestyle change necessary? STOP SPENDING MONEY ON STUFF!

Are You Hurting Your Body Unintentionally?

Hello Lovelies!

I really want to talk to you today about listening to your body when it tells you to SLOW DOWN.

Life is such a mad rush all the time and we’ve been programmed to feel like we have to keep up, but it is such an unsustainable ideal. Our bodies, minds and souls can’t commit to endless activity and energy spending, and if you’re anything like me, your body will hum a gentle reminder that slowly turns into a roar, demanding REST.

Seeking Progress Not Perfection

Hello Lovelies!

At its root, this blog is about our journey to improve ourselves and get the most out of our lives. We want to make progress. In striving for that we’ve done a lot of self reflection on what’s been hindering us from achieving our goals. What comes up time and time again for me is perfectionism.

Sufferers of perfectionism will convince themselves that it’s a good thing, and in some ways it can be. There’s nothing wrong with striving to be better at things, to improve yourself and your skills. Those are worthwhile goals.

The problem is that striving for perfection rather than striving for progress sets us up for failure.

Becoming educated about and proficient at any task, skill or habit takes time. It takes practice and it takes dedication. And guess what? We will never be perfect right away, we will always make mistakes, trip up and do something wrong. And guess what else? That’s perfectly OK!
